About me
To Dance is to Live! To Serve is Joy!
My life’s passions are dancing and serving. Every interaction I have with my world is an opportunity to dance. And this type of dancing comes in so many different forms: Communication, Compassion, Non-Verbal Communication, Kindness, Joy, Laughter and Fun.
As an academic endocrinologist, I have the privilege to care for veterans at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center. My area of expertise is in the management of diabetes mellitus and specifically for patients who require integration of diabetes-related devices that enhance the management of their diabetes.
Combining my two loves of dancing and helping others gives me joy, purpose and happiness. Recently, I was confronted with the question - if I cannot dance and cannot help others, then who am I and what is my worth? I had the opportunity to write about this experience and was invited to share my story in a book compilation, entitled “Six Figure Chicks, Houston.” This experience opened my eyes to the amazing and inspirational stories of so many phenomenal women in Houston and helped me understand better about the power of self-love, prayer and the deep connection between the mind, body and spirit.
Check out this book if you are looking for inspiration, to feel supported and to know that you are not alone, when faced with life’s inevitable challenges.
